Our dual wave, Aspen Summit Laser penetrates at wavelengths between 810 nm and 1064 nm and is safe for all skin tones. Aspen Lasers are a leader in low level light technology and our Summit model is the gold standard for cold laser therapy.

During this procedure, different wavelengths and outputs of low-level light are applied directly to a targeted area. The body tissue then absorbs the light. The red and near-infrared light cause a photobiomodulation reaction, and the damaged cells respond with a physiological reaction that promotes regeneration, while reducing pain and inflammation.
Although you’ll feel the laser apparatus gliding over your skin, the procedure is painless and noninvasive. There will be no sound and you’ll feel no vibration. Cold laser is a low energy therapy yet patients may feel some mild warmth during the procedure. Treatments are often performed two to three times weekly and take approximately ten minutes to perform.

During laser treatment, the light will penetrate the skin and act at the cellular level. Light stimulates mitochondria to increase energy production, biochemical reactions, protein and growth factor synthesis, cell growth and proliferation and blood and oxygen flow. This entire process is called photobiomodulation, and studies show it has the potential to significantly reduce pain, improve inflammation and speed the process of healing.
Health insurance does not reimburse for cold laser, but HSAs (health spending accounts) often do. Nonetheless, cold laser therapy in our New Orleans, LA location is offered as part of our value based healthcare services.
